Wow, 2025 is flying by! It'll be May by the end of this week. Spring has been generally good. We've been quite busy with the kids activities. I've never wanted to be the type that wanted their kids to be overly scheduled but during particular periods of the year, we are definitely overstretched. Let's see the major things we're involved in right now:
Nik - work, church men's group
Amy - PPP, Girl Scouts leader, taking care of her parents, church women's group, running, lactation course
Kai - soccer, jujitsu, track and field, violin (on hold)
Sora - Girl Scouts, piano, gymnastics
Jad - comp soccer
Aiya! Anyway, here are some things that have been happening..

Those are the little things that happened the past few weeks. We were on spring break last week and didn't do too much. Amy wanted to spend a lot of time with her parents so we took them on a train ride one day in Sunol and to visit a close friend up the peninsula on another day. It's nice as Amy's dad has not gotten out in a while and her mom is always taking care of him so she can't go far either. With both of their diagnoses, Amy's goal is to make the best of the time that they have.

We took a couple of days to visit Great Wolf Lodge to see what it was like. We stayed one Wed night and played in the water park the day before and after. Really family friendly and the slides were a lot of fun. Mid week is the way to go as if there were too many more people, I think it would not have been as fun. As it was, lines for rides were 5-10mins mostly and it wasn't super crowded in the lazy river or wave pool. Also less expensive mid week (~$300) vs $500+ for the weekends. They really also try to upsell you on food, activities (ropes courses, mini golf, bowling, wand thing..) but we just stuck to the water park and ate at nearby places. It was fun but even the kids had had enough after the second day.

During the visit, Amy was also able to visit our friends, Jen and Randolph, who live in Modesto.

We then drove over to Elk Grove to visit Bonnie, Tony and their kids. It was nice to catch up with them and the kids got along well. We usually go camping with them but with our trip to Costa Rica this year, we probably won't be able to join so wanted to see them. They are so good and have so many things going from fostering kittens, running their tutoring business, maintaining their massive garden and more. The kids are fun too, both Juliet and Alex are taking a book from Tony and seem to be very meticulous and interested in business/entrepreneurship :)

That's all for now. Lots of stuff here and there. We've done the bulk of the planning for Costa Rica and summer is mostly mapped out. Visits from Joe, Chris and Viet plus families. Maybe a trip to San Diego as well. Til next time!
